Gw2 anniversary lounge choosy box2/2/2024 ![]() Or they could just make it part of Bloodtide Coast.īut Living story maps aren’t pay gated the same way Lounges are. The area on the screen capture I outlined in red could be a map with the blue a vapor portal to LA. I just suggested Claw Island as a full expanded map because so much that could be added to it given the area it’s in. I’m just talking about the resources put into making so many lounges could be put into doing a map instead. Or indeed how it’s a one or the other trade-off. I don’t really see how they’re related to one another. On the other hand you’re talking about adding a bunch of different events to a tiny map. On the one hand you’re talking about putting standard NPCs and objects like crafting tables into a small area of an (generally speaking) pre-existing map that you sell access to on the gem store for convenience. Saying that they’ll probably turn Claw Island into yet another lounge. I’d much rather see them do something like turn Claw Island into a full map w/pirate attacks at night and Inquest weaponized karka/pocket raptor infestations in the daytime. I went ahead and got the Mistlock one because of the low gravity space area and it allows players to return to the previous location plus the one that came with PoF which I can’t use yet but it seems to me that the others are fairly useless. I have the Captain’s Airship which helps me reach Orr via the gate below. Building one after another seems like a waste of resources for the devs. While the account rewards are only delivered once per account, each of your characters will receive the character rewards on their eighth birthday through the in-game mail system. Why are there so many different lounge areas? No sign of the bands at the top of this thread During the second half of Ferdinand’s set, all four Scots took sticks to Paul Thomson’s drum kit for “Outsiders,” but the highlight was unquestionably “Lucid Dreams,” a newly minted rave-rock classic that outtros via 10 minutes of electro-instrumental dance-floor ecstasy.A Brit viewpoint, a while back Maura from pointed out this rubbish Philly modern rock station The foursome from Glasgow, Scotland, stayed rakishly casual under even the most frenzied circumstances, as singer Alex Kapranos preened atop a head-high speaker stack and pulled the crowd into “Do You Want To” and “This Fire.” Their blue-neon-grid backdrop was barely more involved than Modest Mouse’s sparse, black stage both bands seemed intent on delivering musical rather than visual thrills. Just prior on the same stage, Franz Ferdinand played a fitting prelude. curfew, encoring with old fave “Paper Thin Walls” and “Bury Me With It” from 2004’s Good News for People Who Love Bad News. Later in the set, “Float On” was a humongous, mosh-pit-swelling sing-along - humongous enough to keep Modest Mouse onstage til the cusp of 11 p.m. ![]() “Fuckin’ sucks, but I did it to myself,” he said without further explanation. ![]() Leading into “Blue Sedan,” Brock told the crowd he was performing with what he believed was a cracked rib. Isaac Brock barked through the band’s catalog, from set-opening “Gravity Rides Everything” and “Education” to a sprawling “King Rat,” with Brock on banjo, and “Lives/Your Life,” a medley-crescendo turned hoedown with upright bass and fiddle. Six musicians rotated through a Guitar Center’s-worth of instruments, whittling their wall of noise into layers of little melodies and familiar that still came off really weird. Semi-locals Modest Mouse - they’re from Issaquah, a former mining town 20 minutes east of Seattle - characterized the indigenous breed of suburban alienation during a 75-minute, festival-closing set at Memorial Stadium. Props to the young music fans of the Pacific Northwest: without enthusiastic teens and 20-somethings braving the dreary conditions, this year’s festival would’ve been a literal washout.īumbershoot in photos: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse and more. After 36 hours of wet, discouraging weather, Bumbershoot saw its biggest crowds on Monday for final-day headliners Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand and Black Eyed Peas. Supreme commander 2 reviews2/2/2024 ![]() More emphasis has been put on the experimental units, even if there are less of them, and Taylor has done all he can to 'slow' the pace of battle. Thankfully, this is not quite the case, as despite slimming down SC2 still requires a bit of getting used to, and has a lot going on at once in the more advanced games. In attempting to appeal to a wider audience, Supreme Commander 2 is in danger of being yet another run of the mill strategy game. If you don't keep up with the pace of battle, you will easily be overrun. It took a lot of getting used to, but there was still a certain addictiveness to it. Requiring a degree of drive and concentration (not to mention a hefty machine to play it on) rarely seen in strategy games, the original game was literal homage to the 'war machine' concept. It's a shame, as Supreme Commander was one of those games where its biggest flaw was also the one thing that made it unique. There's been cuts across the board in this game, with less units, less buildings, less experimentals and less micro-management. Each faction has a protagonist that you play as and follow through their story, and in typical RTS fashion the game's various elements are slowly unlocked for you.Īs for accessibility, many feared (or accused) Supreme Commander 2 would be 'dumbed down' - well in a pinch it has, although the more appropriate phrase would be toned down. Set many years after the last game, Supreme Commander 2 deals with the fall of the alliance, and the start of a new war between the three factions. ![]() Obviously, the Strategy genre doesn't really lend itself to an 'involved' story and Taylor gets points for trying, but it doesn't change the outcome. Whether it's the shortness of the three campaigns (one for each faction as usual, but only 6 missions a piece) or the rather quick progression of the plot, the emotional undercurrent associated with the situations you find yourself in get glossed over. This sounds reasonable on paper, however the reality is a little less impressive than Taylor probably intended. The ACU remains the key to your operations, and the only 'manned' entity.īelieve it or not, this is a 'minor' experimental. ![]() The latter is the tamer of the two ideologies, and simply manifested itself into a more intricate story line filled with stronger themes such as family and loyalty. The end result is the same however: As we mentioned last time, two key concepts were at the forefront of SC2's development, and are quite noticeable whilst playing the game: Accessibility and Narrative. ![]() Whether this was a result of Gas Powered Games new partnership with Square (who have had a bit of a rocky start in the western strategy market in our opinion) or because Chris Taylor genuinely wanted to alter the fundamentals of his game is anyone's guess. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it's more of a case of targeted audience more than anything, but just so we're clear from the off - we weren't wrong. Supreme Commander 2, whilst it showed promise, was clearly going to be but a shadow of its former self. But once the ACU has been destroyed, the mission or the multiplayer-match is lost.ĭisclaimer: The product images shown are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product received. Not so long ago you read our preview on Chris Taylor's sequel to his epic strategy game Supreme Commander. The ACU can construct buildings faster than the normal engineer and has access to powerful weapons in order to fight his enemies. To keep track of everything, the player can seamlessly zoom out to a strategic map or zoom in until he's up close with his avatar, the mighty ACU. But the game still is a real-time-strategy game in the vein of Total Annihilation, featuring an insane amount of units on the huge battlefields at the same time. The three opposing sides - the Cybran Nation, the Illuminates and the United Earth Federation - are still fighting in the Infinite War all across the galaxy, spreading chaos and unrest with the player right in the middle as the Supreme Commander.Īs opposed to the first game, there's only one single player campaign during which the player will take over the control over the armies of each of the factions starting with the UEF-campaign as Commander Dominic "Migraine" Maddox followed by Commander Thalia Kael in the Illuminates-campaign and finally as Commander Ivan Brackman in the Cybran-campaign. Supreme Commander 2 takes place 25 years after the events of Supreme Commander. Bacon jummp2/2/2024 For some reason that popped into my head this week and it got me thinking. It always had to be the same way, topped with butter, bacon & green onions. Speaking of Mr Meatified, back in the day when we didn’t eat Paleo, one of his favorite treat meals was a baked potato. I have no idea why I get teased for the way I eat by a man who conscientiously eats around his bacon, piles it up on the corner of his plate and then devours it last, plain. Eating like a grown up is stupid, anyway. ![]() Then I pick it up with my hands and chow down in a decidedly unattractive manner. To the point that I do something which gets me mocked routinely: I save my last piece of bacon and top it with the last of the guacamole, spreading it all over. There is something just so completely amazing about the salty bacon coming up against the creamy avocado. Enjoy a fun physics game with Bacon the Game where you have to try to throw the delicious slices of smoked bacon into the moving cup of each level. Now, when I make brunch at the weekend, my two absolutely-must-have items are bacon and guacamole. Now if bacon is a wonderfood, then it can clearly be deduced that bacon makes everything better. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until sauce becomes thickened and creamy. ![]() Bring to a boil, then reduce to a high simmer. Gradually whisk in chicken broth, then heavy cream, and milk. I’m going to start off here with the Captain Obvious of sentences: bacon is an amazing wonderfood. Place 1-3 very thin bacon pieces on the meat it depends on how wide the bacon is German bacon slices are very thin and narrow. Sprinkle flour over the garlic, mushrooms, and bacon and stir for 1 minute.
